Il Secolo XIX, based in Genoa, is the main newspaper in Liguria and one of the oldest in Italy. Since February 2011, working for Meloria, I've art directed several press campaigns for Il Secolo XIX, in team with copywriter czar Paolo Lentini.
Usually our campaigns were made to launch new publishing ventures: for a series of regional cookbooks we realized an italian flag made from a wide variety of typical foods and ingredients. I crafted the flag and supervised the shooting by Marco Nero.
For the digital edition of Il Secolo XIX the concept was: wherever you go on summer holidays you can feel at home, reading ligurian news on your device. This time I played the cartographer, drawing three fictional maps with ligurian cities and small towns substituting actual cities around the world.
